Charlotte, NC (May 9, 2023) — Leantime, an open-source project management tool built for non-project managers, today announced it has been selected to participate in the AWS Impact Accelerator Latino Founders Cohort, a technical, business, and mentorship program for Latino-led startups to help accelerate their cloud-native business. This opportunity will support Leantime’s efforts to expand their commercial offerings and to turn AI into the virtual project manager that allows people to keep doing what they do best – the work.

The AWS Impact Accelerator Latino Founders Cohort is part of the AWS Impact Accelerator, a program backed by AWS’ $30 million dollar commitment to provide underrepresented founders of early-stage startups equitable access to training, mentorship, tools, and resources to accelerate their cloud-native businesses.

The AWS Accelerator will help Leantime accomplish both short term and long term goals by providing critical knowledge, network support and infrastructure for its AI development efforts as well as funding to hire additional engineers.

“The tools out there aren’t built for people like me,” said Gloria Folaron, founder and CEO of Leantime. “I started a previous business and had no idea how to organize in a way to grow. The solutions out there are too complicated to learn for the speed in which we are moving in today’s world and now we can combine easy project management with an AI virtual project manager. ”

As one of 20 companies chosen for this opportunity, Leantime will receive up to $225,000 in non-equity investment and AWS credits, extensive training, mentoring and technical guidance, as well as introductions to Amazon leaders and teams, networking opportunities with potential investors, and ongoing advisory support.

“Latinos make up one in five people in the country, but are still significantly underrepresented when it comes to venture funding support to their businesses—receiving less than 2% of the venture capital invested in the market. This cohort of the AWS Impact Accelerator aims to highlight the viability and ingenuity of Latino-led startups, so the VC community can increase support to these founders,” said Howard Wright, Vice President and Global Head of Startups at AWS. “We’re looking forward to playing an active role in helping these companies turbocharge their growth through access to capital, experts, and all of the innovations that the AWS tech stack has to offer.”
